This reader provides beginning, intermediate, and advanced students of the Bulgarian language with a collection of 50 contemporary newspaper and magazine articles with English translation, vocabularies, and notes. Each selection provides a language focus with a word forming pattern which can be found in the text. A recording of the texts read by a native speaker is also available.
The Reader includes a grammar section consisting of five chapters, which represent the changeable parts of speech in Bulgarian: nouns, pronouns, numbers, adjectives, and verbs. This short description of the Bulgarian grammar is intended to assist the students with the basic paradigms of pronouns and verbs, as well as the essential rules for noun, adjective, and number form alterations.
