This dictionary of approximately 13,000 Vietnamese words, compound words and phrases is based on a corpus that contains approximately one million digitized words, of which 750,000 were collected from a myriad of Vietnamese publications and 250,000 words of spoken text taken from recorded conversations. The dictionary concentrates on the current ares of interest in the country of Vietnam: computers, business, science, medicine, and modern technology.This is the first Vietnamese-English dictionary to identify, label, and exemplify the part of speech of each sense of the word defined, and to treat words from the spoken language and identify them in that way. Also, this is the first VED to use complete example sentences for each definition rather than simple phrases.
