This is a five-volume, self-contained course with optional accompanying audio cassettes programmed to take a beginning student to Level 3 (minimum professional fluency) in about thirty weeks. The teaching methodology is based on the model used by the Defense Language Institute; the course is designed to be taught by a native speaker. The language is Standard Cambodian throughout. There are one hundred dialogue lessons, forty reading lessons, a script workbook, and supplemental dictations. Each dialogue lesson consists of a Cambodian dialogue and English translation, new vocabulary, pattern sentences, notes, and a recombination dialogue which uses the vocabulary in different ways.
